Battle Information
How do the Battle disciplines work?
Each participant registers for the competition via a form, where they will be asked to specify their music – this is for administrative purposes only and will not be used in the battle itself.
The music for the battle will be randomly selected according to the competitor's dance style, so that everyone has the same starting position and can show their true improvisational skills.
Competitors will be randomly paired against each other – solos against solos, duos against duos, and groups against groups. In each battle, the dancers improvise – it is not a prepared choreography, but a reaction to the music in real time.
The draw is conducted in the traditional manner – by drawing lots from a hat. The winners of each round are selected by a jury, which decides on the basis of expression, technique, creativity, and energy. The best always advance until there is one winner left in the final.
Battle area
Dance battles take place on a professional ballet floor, which is ideal for safe and smooth movement.
The battle zone measures 6 × 6 meters.
